Marriage Leave - WRC Update - BOI ROI & NI - BOI 17/26
23 April 2026
BOI 17/26
Your Sector Committee attended the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) on 22 April for conciliation on Marriage Leave in Bank of Ireland.
The conciliation officer recommended further local engagement, and a second meeting has now been scheduled for 29 April.
At conciliation, we made it clear that Marriage Leave is a long-standing, negotiated entitlement that forms part of our collective agreements. We told the conciliation officer that this is a deeply-felt issue for our members, that it is a highly valued type of leave, and that members do not accept the erosion or cost-cutting of their hard-won rights.
We will keep you updated on progress. In the meantime, if you have colleagues who are not yet members of the FSU, please encourage them to join at www.fsunion.org/join If they include your name in the 'recruited by' section, you will receive a €50/£40 voucher as a thank you.
