26 October 2018

The Financial Services Union today acknowledged the ‘positive and constructive’ role that outgoing CEO Bernard Byrne played at the helm of the bank.

Billy Barrett, Senior Industrial Relations Officer at FSU said:

“Bernard Byrne valued AIB staff and recognised that they are one of the main assets of the bank. On becoming CEO he committed to working closely with the FSU and, while there were times we disagreed, he always honoured his commitment to engage with the Union. He played a positive and constructive role and I wish him well in the future.”

“FSU expects that the incoming leadership in AIB will continue to value its staff and strengthen the good relationship with FSU.”
