We note the announcement today re. the agreed terms of an offer to purchase PTSB by BAWAG.

We will prioritise the protection of members’ jobs and terms and conditions of employment and the retention of the existing branch network.  It is important to note that the Group of Unions are the only external stakeholder body that has a legal right to provide an opinion as part of the formal sales process.

We appreciate members will have a lot of questions and concerns. The Group of Unions will be meeting the Chief People Officer Ger Mitchell tomorrow to commence discussions on the sales process. Following this we will arrange for an initial members’ meeting.
