Update - AIB Group AIB 20/25

07 August 2025

AIB 20/25

We have met with the bank, providing them with extensive feedback from your Union survey, and the hundreds of comments/stories members sent in. We were explicit about the consequences this will have to your work/life balance, wellbeing and impacts on you financially. The bank has agreed to further engage with us on this matter, and we will keep you updated throughout this process.

At this point we have advised the employer that they need to exhaust our negotiating procedures, before any implementation of a policy. We are therefore also advising Union Members to maintain and stick to your current working practices around WFH until otherwise advised by your union.  If you need individual support please contact your Sector Committee member.

Please find below the finalised results of the survey for your review:

Circa 4000 responses

  • 93% say working from home is extremely important
  • 95% say the new requirements will have a negative impact
  • 97% concerned and 89% extremely concerned about the changes
  • 93% say 3 days is too many in person
  • 85% considering changing job

We are conscious that not all staff can avail of hybrid working, but for those who can this is a hugely important issue. Unilateral changes to working conditions are unacceptable. We ask for your solidarity on this issue to support your colleagues when they need you.

If your colleagues are not members of the FSU, they need to join now. Our union needs the full backing of workers on this issue. They can join online at www.fsunion.org/fsu/join.
