Pay Talks - BOI Group - BOI 31/25
12 November 2025
BOI 31/25
Our union is starting pay talks with Bank of Ireland next Wednesday, the 19th of November.
We have agreed to appoint an independent third party this year to facilitate talks. Aoibheann Ní Shúilleabháin, who is a former Deputy Director of Conciliation, Advisory, and Mediation at the WRC, has been appointed to the role. She will oversee talks and try to bring both sides to an acceptable deal.
We will be presenting our pay survey results to the bank. The key outcomes from the survey are:
- Union engagement and participation is significantly up and very strong
- Expectations from members based on the bank’s performance are very high
- The cost of living crisis is still very real and is impacting members’ financial choices
- Fixed pay increases are the priority for our members
This was the biggest pay survey the union has ever done, which demonstrates members’ engagement and determination in this year’s pay negotiations.
We also conducted comprehensive research with external economists on the bank’s financial performance, the cost of living, inflation, the labour market, and general economic performance—all of which will help inform our pay claim.
Our pay talks are starting with an information sharing session before we submit our claim.
We will keep members advised of progress, and please continue to encourage non-members to join at www.fsunion.org/fsu/join.
As the union grows, your voice strengthens.
