Northern Ireland Holiday Pay - AIB NI

16 June 2026

AIB 13/26

Great news!

As per a previous communication on the calculation of holiday pay.  After further engagement with the Bank, and having taken legal advice for members, we have agreed with the Bank to push the backdating period significantly back to October 2008 for members working in Northern Ireland. This means eligible staff will receive an additional payment as part of the June 2026 payroll.  This will appear on your payslip as “UK Holiday Pay”.

And just to confirm from now on how holiday pay is calculated, the additional payments in scope paid in the 3 months preceding the annual leave will be totalled. The average hourly rate will be calculated and will be multiplied by the number of annual leave hours used in the previous pay period. This means holiday pay is now inclusive of regular overtime worked.

This is a very positive outcome for members.
