Helpline on Covid-19 Protections

Your union has been fighting to secure protections for members affected by the recent lockdown. These include continuity of pay for those with caring responsibilities impacted by school and creche closures. While each member’s personal circumstances differ, it has been our priority to protect those who are most vulnerable. 

Your health is of utmost importance. There are many who have underlying conditions and are at risk should they contract the virus. Seek medical advice first and foremost. Should you be categorised as being at risk, speak with your manager to discuss your options. Your union is here to support you, so get in touch if you have concerns. 

In the Republic of Ireland, facemasks are not mandatory for customers to wear in banks, credit unions or post offices. Our members have been very vocal in expressing their views. A recent survey revealed that the vast majority (93.3%) of members think Government should make the wearing of face masks mandatory in bank branches. Your union has campaigned tirelessly to have this changed over the last number of months. In a reply to a parliamentary question submitted by Deputy Ged Nash TD the Minister cited “public health and security reasons” as the excuse not to amend the relevant regulations.
