Financial Services Union responds to staff reductions in CPL/Bank of Ireland

15 May 2020

The Financial Services Union has expressed concern for the workers impacted by the decision to reduce over a hundred short term CPL contracts in Bank of Ireland.  The staff affected work in Bank of Ireland “Direct Channels” in Kilkenny and Tallaght.

FSU is calling on both Bank of Ireland and CPL to engage with the union to exhaust all avenues to secure alternative roles.

FSU Senior Official Maeve Brehony said:

"Bank of Ireland have confirmed that CPL workers affected can apply for alternative roles within the group which are advertised internally or externally.  However, we are calling on both Bank of Ireland and CPL to engage with FSU to exhaust all avenues to secure alternative roles for the workers impacted by this decision, to mitigate job losses."
"FSU call on all CPL workers who haven’t already done so to join FSU to bolster their collective strength.  Agency workers are particularly vulnerable at this time, but they are entitled to respect and dignity and the protection of their rights at work."
