Financial Services Union open ballot in Kyndryl for industrial action
29 July 2026
The Financial Services Union (FSU) have today commenced a ballot for industrial action in Kyndryl.
Kyndryl provide IT support and maintenance to major Irish companies including Bank of Ireland.
Commenting on the need to ballot union members for industrial action Caitleen Desetti, Industrial Relations Organiser with the FSU said:
“Discussions on redundancy terms for certain employees of Kyndryl have being ongoing for some time now. The FSU and Kyndryl have a collective agreement recognising certain redundancy terms for TUPE-transferred employees. This agreement has not been honoured by Kyndryl, and after feedback from our members, the Council of the FSU has agreed to ballot for industrial action
Ballot papers will issue today, and the ballot will close on Wednesday the 19th of August.
If the ballot is passed, a decision will be made at that stage on the nature, timing, and duration of any action.
It is unfortunate that the intense discussions that have taken place over the last number of weeks did not resolve the issue. Our members are adamant that the FSU collective agreement needs to be honoured.
The FSU will continue to engage with Kyndryl management to try to resolve this matter, and we implore them to honour the terms that transferred with staff and avoid unnecessary disruption to customers and services like those for Bank of Ireland."
