Financial Services Union ballots union members in AIB on new hybrid working principles

22 October 2025

The Financial Services Union (FSU) has today opened a ballot in AIB of its union membership on the proposed new hybrid working principles in AIB.

AIB unilaterally announced changes to its hybrid working model back in July and after intensive negotiations between the Bank and the FSU a set of principles were produced by the bank outlining the proposed new hybrid working model.

These set of principles will now go to a ballot of FSU members in AIB. The ballot opens today and will close on Wednesday 5th November.

Commenting on the ballot John O’Connell, General Secretary of the FSU said.

“ The FSU are today opening a ballot of our members in AIB asking them if they agree with the proposed new hybrid working principles.

If our members vote yes, the new hybrid working principles will come into effect on January 1st, 2026.

If FSU members vote not to accept the new principles the FSU will refer the matter to the WRC.“
