Pay Survey Results - Bank of Ireland Group BOI 35/26

21 October 2026

BOI 35/26

Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent pay survey. The response this year was very strong, and it sends a clear message about your priorities as we begin preparing for pay negotiations.

Some key themes emerged loud and clear:

  • Members expect a higher pay increase than last year, reflecting both ongoing cost-of-living pressures and the bank’s continued financial success.
  • Household costs remain a major concern, with disposable income reducing and living standards coming under the squeeze.
  • Increasing commuting costs are having a growing impact on take-home pay.
  • Workloads continue to rise and staffing levels are insufficient in many areas.
  • Morale has come under pressure, with pay, workload, and staffing issues emerging as the biggest factors affecting how you feel at work.

Our survey findings help to shape our union’s pay strategy during negotiations. Once the bank’s Q3 results are published, your Sector Committee will be initiating pay talks with management.

Every survey response helps to strengthen our negotiating position, so thank you for sharing your view. Please talk to your colleagues about pay and why being part of our union is important. The larger and more active our membership, the stronger our collective voice is and the more effectively we can negotiate better pay and benefits throughout the year for everyone.

New members can join us at www.fsunion.org/fsu/join. If they list your name in the ‘recruited by’ field, you will receive a €50/£40 voucher as a thank you.
